Who is Daniela Araujo? Tell me a little bit about you, where did you grow up, how was your childhood like, what makes you happy in life?

Sou uma pessoa intensa e sentimental, um pouco distraída e desastrada! Gosto muito de dar risada, mas o que me fascina é a beleza e a inspiração que muitas vezes, a tristeza e o mistério da vida nos traz. Todos os dias tenho meus momentos e minhas questões, estou sempre buscando perceber tudo ao meu redor. Minha infância foi diferente, pois já viajava pra cantar com o grupo infantil que tinha com meus irmãos, o grupo "Turma do Barulho". Não tive muitos amigos, mas tive a rica oportunidade de conhecer quase todo o Brasil e grande parte dos USA. Meus pais cantores estavam sempre viajando, então eu e meus irmãos fomos criados pelos nossos avós. O que me faz feliz na vida é ter a consciência da eternidade através da palavra de D-s, ou seria insuportável viver. A vida é difícil e desafiadora, precisamos ter esperança e fé para superarmos os dilemas que ela nos traz.

What is your musical background and how long have you been singing?

Estou no segundo ano de faculdade de música e toco um pouco de piano, mas só pra compor. Comecei a gravar com tres anos de idade, fazendo participação num cd dos meus pais! Hoje eu ouço essa gravação e me divirto!

Listening to your album I can clearly see that you've taken this work quite seriously, I have been able to notice the importance of each detail in the intruments, your voice, the melodies and the words. How long have you been working on this album?

Trabalhei nesse album por três anos, por muitos motivos! Gravamos cordas em Praga, Republica Tcheca. Mas pra isso acontecer, tive que esperar oito meses pra conseguir uma data disponível e apropriada para todos os envolvidos na gravação. Em alguns momentos, a espera era por causa de verba, já que é um trabalho produzido independentemente! Então entre um contratempo e outro, dediquei três anos da minha vida para a produção desse album.

What has inspired you while working on this album?/Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?

Algumas músicas são mais antigas que outras, e retratam uma longa fase da minha vida.

I have been listenning to your album every day over the last 2 weeks and I love all the songs! I have so many emotions while listening to interludio jugo suave, jugo suave and gratidao both for the words and the music but to be honest I haven't been able to identify my favourite song yet so I am curious to know which one is your favourite and why?

Gosto muito da Jugo Suave de uma maneira especial e ainda é muito difícil cantá-la ao vivo, por ser muito pessoal e expor o gigante que enfrento todos os dias: eu mesma.

What do you like about your work?

Gosto de saber que estou sendo usada por D-s para ser um canal de benção para outras pessoas, mesmo sabendo que não sou melhor do que ninguém. Penso que o maior privilégio que alguém pode ter é sentir a plenitude de D-s, seja no momento da composição, ou no momento em que estou falando ou cantando sobre o Amor Soberano.

What is your dream project?

Gravar um DVD com video clipes e um show acústico.

 

Name three artists that inspire you and why?

Jaci Velasquez tem o timbre mais doce e inspirador que já ouvi, ela me influenciou muito na adolescência e foi um canal direto entre D-s e eu. Bon Iver, ele é inovador e inspirador.

 

Favourite or most inspirational place?

A casa dos meus avós, boas teclas de piano, ou algum lugar em que eu possa ouvir o silêncio.

 Do you express yourself in another form of art?/What other passion do you have?

Gosto de escrever no meu blog www.daniellaaraujo.blogspot.com e nos meus cadernos, tenho uma paixão por fotografia e vídeo, algumas fotos de viagem estão nowww.demadrugada.tumblr.com, estou sempre com minhas máquinas. Um dia penso em ter uma loja de roupas, acessórios e velharias que gostaria de ter pra mim.

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to a singer?

Seja sincero na hora de compor e cante com a alma. Dê sempre o seu melhor e só faça música se você amar a ponto de viver por ela.

This is one of my favourite song on Daniela Araujo's first Album.
The melody is so rich that I was actually able to feel and understand the meaning of the song before I translated it. The balance between Daniela's voice, the piano and the strings is amazing in this song.
I genuinely feel the music speaks to me.

Jugo Suave is inspired from Matthew 11:30 "For my Yoke is easy and my burden is light".

Album Review Daniela Araujo

I have to say, it is the first time I listen to a CD where I love all the songs. The funniest part is that I don't understand anything she says because she sings in Portuguese! I was at this concert last Saturday and when she came on stage to sing her song, her voice and her music caught my attention.
I have so much to say about her Album. The Music is amazing. The melodies are absolutely beautiful; this kind of music transports my heart from one place to another.
Listening to this album I feel the emotion and the story behind each song...
And her voice is soft and powerful at the same time... so pleasant to the ear.
Everything is perfectly synchronised: the instruments, her voice, the vocals and the words (which I translated).
I am in love with this album!!!
